Redline KTM’s Scott Deroue won a three-way battle for first during the second HEL Performance British Motostar race at Donington Park today. The Former Dutch 125 champion managed to fend off the attacks of fellow Moto3 riders Redline KTM’s Brad Ray and RS Racing’s Taz Taylor.
Initially it was Taylor who got the hole shot and led for most of the race, but fellow KTM riders Deroue and Ray were never too far behind. Taylor was on the pace but on the final lap went wide on the penultimate corner allowing Deroue to clinch the win followed by Ray.
Thirty seconds behind the leading trio was Banks Racing’s Ed Rendell, Dani Saez and Jorel Boerboom, with Brian Slooten and Elliot Lodge rounding up the top ten, which was full of M3 machines.
JPL Racing’s Josh Owens took the 125 spoils, ahead of Andrew Sawford and Wesley Jonker. There were a few tumbles out on the track, including RS Racing’s Georgina Poulden, who only completed four laps of the Leicestershire circuit before she crashed out unhurt at Craner Curve, whislt riding high inside the top ten. Fellow female racer Sam Burman only completed six laps before her DNF.
