Donington BSB test: ‘It hasn’t been great for us’ – Iddon

Halsall Suzuki’s Christian Iddon has labelled the official MCE British Superbike test at Donington Park as “difficult” and “tough,” as he failed to find a setup that he felt comfortable with yesterday.

The Stockport rider went out in all the sessions and was one of a handful of riders who participated in all three outings, braving the wet and cold temperatures at the Leicestershire track.

Iddon had a positive test in Spain a few weeks ago, but he couldn’t find the same pace that he had in warmer climates, but on the plus side he put down enough laps to bring back some valuable data to his team.

“It hasn’t been a great test for us, but I have had worse so that’s alright - at least we kept the bike on two wheels. We left Guadix in a positive frame of mind but it has been tough here and we have not found the feeling that I wanted to,” said Iddon, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the circuit.

“We have now got a week to go through all the information we gathered. It has been difficult, I am not sure if it was the wind or not, but it was the same for everyone so there are no excuses really. The test was going to confirm that everything is bang on, but it seems that we haven’t for this track. It is a bit of a strange one as we need to work out why that is, but we have collected a lot of data and we will come out fighting next week.”
