Donington WSBK: Two podiums in succession for Giugliano

Aruba.it Ducati’s Davide Giugliano crossed the finishing line in race one at the British round of the World Superbike championship at Donington Park in second place, and it was a slight case of déjà vu for the rider.

At the last round in Sepang the Italian finished race two on the second step of the podium, and he is now feeling happier with the setup of his Panigale. That was not the case at the start of the season, where the racer admitted that his bike did not feel like his own, but changes were made and Giugliano has found a pace that he is content with.

Twelve months ago Giugliano could not withstand a fast pace throughout a whole race, but now he can and it was evident today as he was able to keep up with the Kawasaki of Tom Sykes to finish second, but the rider wants to be even faster.

“For me it was very difficult for the first race [of the season] with my bike, as it was not my bike as it was the bike of Chaz, and this was a problem as I don’t ride the same as Chaz,” said Giugliano at the track.

“After the two races at Philip Island and Buriram I speak more with my team and I want another setup and the difference is very big and now for me is possible to ride. Last year I could not be fast for a whole race, I could be fast for one flying lap. I work more now and it possible that I can be faster.”
