Donington WSBK: Giugliano ‘confident’ even after FP crash

Aruba.it Ducati’s Davide Giugliano is feeling ‘confident’ after setting the second fastest time during the final timed World Superbike free practice session at Donington Park, even after a crash this afternoon.

The Italian only recently made it back into the Superbike paddock after missing a few rounds with injury. He was on the grid at Imola and even though he hurt the back of his neck during his tumble at Redgate in FP3 he is feeling OK.

The Ducati man’s best time of a 1’28.283 was only one tenth off the fastest lap set by Kawasaki Racing’s Tom Sykes. He was on a hot lap when he crashed out in the gravel, but now he is prepared to fight it out for pole tomorrow.

“I am happy but in the last practice I crashed. I am OK - a little bit sore at the back of my neck, but I am OK,” said the Italian Ducati rider, speaking to bikesportnews.com from the circuit.

“I am very confident, I like this track more and more. My bike is not so good at the moment. I will make some small changes before qualifying, but tomorrow is another day, and I hope to do a good job.”
