Newly-crowned Ducati Tri-Options Cup Champion Joe Collier will join the Pirelli Superstock 1000 ranks at Oulton Park’s British Superbike round after getting a call from the IMR Racing team.
The Isle of Man-based squad are making their debut in the championship this weekend and Collier grabbed the chance to join them with both hands. He will campaign a BMW S1000RR in the highly-competitive class.
“This season couldn’t have gone much better for me winning the Ducati Tri-Options Cup, then to get a phone call from Steve Plater this morning asking me if I’d be interested in riding for the IMR/Evolution Camping BMW team this weekend at Oulton Park,” said Collier.
“I don’t know a lot about the team, but the 1000cc class is where I want to be next season for sure. The Ducati has a bit less horsepower, so there will be a bit to learn on the Superstock BMW, but once we get free practice out of the way I’ll set myself some goals for the weekend.”
