Dunlops dominate Killalane Road Races

Michael and William Dunlop dominated the final 2015 Irish road racing meeting at the weekend. Michael ended the season on a high with victories in the Open and Grand Final at the Country Crest Killalane Road Races and brother William won both the Supersport races as well as clinching his first Superbike Championship.

Dubliner Derek Sheils led off the line in the Open Race a lead he held until lap three when Dunlop made his move to the front and didn’t take long to open a gap eventually taking the flag five seconds in front of Sheils with William Dunlop in third, giving him the points he needed to secure the 2015 Superbike Championship.

In the Grand Final again it was Sheils on his Bike Bits NI ZX10 got the better start and led Derek McGee and Michael Dunlop on the opening lap. Lap two Dunlop had passed McGee into second position but like the Open Race he again took the lead on the third lap when Sheils retired allowing Derek McGee to move back into second place. Dunlop eventually taking the flag twelve and a half seconds in front of McGee and William in third place.
