Joe Francis has signed to ride for the Tsingtao MV Agusta team in British Supersport next season and is already testing at Cartagena today.
The youngster replaces Jack Kennedy, who moves to the Appleyard outfit, in Dave Tyson’s team which should become a two-rider team in the New Year.
“After Jack’s s departure we needed to bring in a rider with good experience and also who can perform at the front of the championship,” Tyson told bikesportnews.com from the Spanish track.
“Joe has had a couple of years in Supersport and with race wins, pole positions and podium places he fits the bill perfectly. It will be exciting to work with a young rider who wants to win and who is already a British champion.
“Next year we are looking at running two bikes in Supersport and have already spoken to a rider who we hope to name in the new year once we have finalised our new sponsors.”
