Gary Carswell has died

Former Senior Manx Grand Prix winner Gary Carswell died following a practice crash at Jurby Motodrome in the Isle of Man on Saturday.

The 45-year-old civil from Ballure, within earshot of the TT Course, crashed his Honda Fireblade in the opening practice session on the opening day of Andreas Racing Association’s two-day meeting and later died from his injuries.

A regular in the TT since 1998, his best finish was third in the 2004 Senior behind the TAS Suzukis of Adrian Archibald and Bruce Anstey.
