Hill steps up to World Supersport with PTR Honda

British youngster Stefan Hill will make the jump from the European Junior Cup to World Supersport when he joins the PTR Honda team at the Qatar World Superbike finale.

Hill has run in the EJC for the past few seasons but is now eyeing a move up in class and Simon Buckmastr’s squad have given him the opportunity in two weeks’ time.

It has always been an ambition of mine to race at a world level championship, I feel so privileged to be just 17 with a ride in World super sport and am still in shock and struggling to believe that soon i'll be on a plane to Qatar. I have had three year's being around the WSBK paddock riding in the European Junior Cup hoping one day i'd ride in the World Championship. It is a major opportunity of which I am very gratified,” said Hill, speaking to bikesportnews.com today.

“I am eager to ride a world super sport bike and feel it will benefit my racing career massively as well as allow me to gain experience with the bikes, riders and environment. I have been training harder then ever as although in the same paddock we don't ride as much as WSS in the European Junior Cup. I am going there with an open mind but obviously want to make the most out of the opportunity and showcase what I can do.

“I have been very privileged to be given this amazing opportunity and would like to give big thank you to Team Manager Simon Buckmaster for giving me this chance as well as Team America Phoenix Services and everyone else who has made all of this happen.”
