Hutchinson gets Tyco Superbike shot at Assen BSB

Tyco BMW’s roads and National Superstock hero Ian Hutchinson will get a shot on board a full Superbike at this weekend’s Assen MCE British Superbike round.

The Bingley rider will join Michael Laverty and Christian Iddon on the Dutch grid for Sunday’s races – his first in the British Superbike Championship since 2014.

“I’m very grateful to my Tyco BMW team for giving me the opportunity to ride in the British Superbike class this weekend at Assen. It’s been a great season for me this year with Tyco BMW and although I’ve never been to the Assen circuit, I hope to be able to do both myself, and the team justice on the S1000RR Superbike in both races,” he said.

Currently second in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 series standings, Hutchinson has recorded two wins from his eight podiums this year and with no Superstock class at Assen, he fully welcomes the chance to jump back on a Superbike.
