Ian Hutchinson will be re-united with the Padgett’s Honda team for this year’s North West 200 which begins this evening.
Hutchinson, who won five Isle of Man TT races in a week with the Batley-based outfit, adds the Supersport machines to the factory Honda Fireblades he will ride in the litre-bike classes.
“Originally I had planned to ride with the Honda Racing team in all three races but because I didn’t know until just two weeks ago that I would be able to race, those plans changed,” said Hutchinson.
“Clive’s circumstances had also changed with Bruce Anstey not riding this year so we were able to get the deal sorted.
The 2018 North West 200 will mark Ian Hutchinson’s return to the roads after breaking his left leg in a crash during last year’s Senior TT.
“Tuesday practice will be steady but it will tell me where I am at with everything,” the Bingley man said. “I haven’t walked for almost 11 months so I need to try to keep progressing in small steps.”
