Iddon makes Halsall Suzuki debut at Cartagena test

Former British Supermoto Champion and WSBK man Christian Iddon has made his MCE British Superbike debut with the Halsall Suzuki squad at Cartagena this afternoon.

Iddon, who joins Josh Waters in the team, didn’t get in a huge amount of laps at the Spanish circuit, just using the final sessions as shakedown time before they get to work in the morning.

“We haven’t done many laps this afternoon, but to be honest the plan was never to do a great deal of laps as we knew that today was going to be more of a set-up day. We just wanted to get a few laps in to tick the box and make sure that the bike ran without any issues. To be honest with you, of all the times that I have been on a new bike at the beginning of the season, that is the easiest run I have had,” said Iddon.

“There were absolutely no teething problems whatsoever it sounds silly, a bike should go round a track quite easy but with these things they don’t just go out and run without issues and it was mega. It was great to get some laps, it is the first time I have ridden a race bike since Assen and it feels like a rocket ship, I haven’t even given it 100 per cent throttle yet, I am saving that for tomorrow.”
