‘I’m still very much in awe of the team’ – Tinmouth

Honda Racing’s Jenny Tinmouth is settling in to her new MCE British Superbike garage, but admits she is still ‘in awe’ of the team. She is enjoying racing the Fireblade and is working hard on her speed and bike setup in preparation for her home round at Oulton Park next week.

She can’t wait to get onboard her CBR1000RR and tackle her home track for the third round of the BSB championship. It is one of her favourite circuit’s and is a ‘pretty special’ place for the local rider.

At the recent Oulton Park test she was working on her racing lines and looking in to why she was losing speed coming in, and exiting the corners at the circuit. Yesterday her team were trying to find solutions to the issue, and Tinmouth is confident she can upp her pace in time for the races a week on Monday.

“Really looking forward to my home round, and Oulton Park is pretty special to me - so looking forward to the weekend. It has been good during the test to see where I am losing time, and I need to get better lines to get more speed, so it has been a good test,” said Tinmouth, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“It is so good to actually see what we can do on track, and trying out bits and pieces. The track has a bit of everything in it, it is hilly and there is no rest on the bike and it is like a rollercoaster rider, and you can see all the spectators - which is great to see.

“We need to build from Brands, but I am very much still in awe of the team, and I am in the coolest team ever. I have no pressure on myself to get fuel or tyres and I can relax and talk to the guys and it is great. There are still a few corners I need to improve on after the test, and a lot of it comes from my lines, so I am trying to adjust my lines and achieve better exits out of the corners. But the Fireblade handles really well, and I’m finding it good to ride.”
