Brit Jake Archer will be wildcarding in this year GoPro British Moto3 Grand Prix at Silverstone in late August. 

The 16-year-old from Andover is currently leading the Hel Performance British Motostar Championship after winning five of the six races so far this season. It will be Archer’s second year wildcarding at Silverstone, although he will be hoping for happier memories than last year when mechanical issues caused him to retire from the race.

"’I’m really pleased to have another opportunity to race at the top level,” said Archer who will be racing as part of his usual City Lifting team.

"Racing on a circuit as famous as Silverstone in front of a British crowd will be awesome.

"Last year we had some bike issues and in the end I had to retire from the race with three laps remaining. Hopefully this time, we can go all the way."
