Jake Dixon fractures hip in Oulton BSB crash

RAF BMW’s Jake Dixon is waiting to see if he will need to undergo surgery after fracturing his hip in a massive crash at yesterday’s Oulton Park MCE British Superbike round.

Dixon was stretchered away from the incident at Britten’s where his S1000RR went straight on, narrowly missing other bikes as it crossed the track backwards while depositing Dixon on his head.

The Kent rider Tweeted from hospital: “Hey everyone latest update dislocated my hip and broke bits off my hip and fractured it waiting for possible surgery.”

Team boss Lee Hardy is investigating: “It was a frightening looking crash and until we get to study the data we won’t get to know or understand the cause. Jake will certainly miss Donington Park next weekend but we’ll give him all the support he needs.”
