Jonathan Rea voted BSN WorldSBK Rider of the Year

Triple Champion Jonathan Rea has cruised to another title this morning, winning the bikesportnews.com WorldSBK Rider of the Year vote by a massive margin, just days after taking second place in the admittedly less important 2017 BBC Sports Personality of the Year reader vote. It is the third year in succession he has taken top spot.

Rea polled almost 60 per cent of the vote which was easily more than the rest of the riders put together. MV Agusta hero Leon Camier came in second with 23.23 per cent while series runner up Chaz Davies took third place with 9.66 per cent.

Alex Lowes took his Pata Yamaha to fourth place with 3.35 per cent while Tom Sykes was fifth with 1.55 per cent.
