'Kawasaki have something' reckons Lowes ahead of 2018 Eight-Hours

Yamaha Racing's Alex Lowes doesn't think Kawasaki are quite the underdogs WorldSBK champ Jonathan Rea is making out and the ZX-10R's performance at world and British Superbike level is an indication of how strong the bike could be at the upcoming Suzuka Eight-Hours.

Lowes, plus team-mate Michael van der Mark, are at the Japanese track testing now along with the factory Kawasaki team which features Rea and BSB series leader Leon Haslam, and Lowes thinks Kawasaki has something up their sleeve.

"Kawasaki are dominating all the Superbike series that they enter - podium lockouts in BSB and KRT in WorldSBK so with a world class line up they are the favourites. We as Yamaha plan to work hard all together to try to beat them again," said Lowes, speaking to bikesportnews.com ahead of today's track action.

"Of course it won’t be easy and there is other very strong opposition. We have to try to improve in every area. But also on paper it’s clear in Superbike trim at the moment Kawasaki have something."
