Kent threatens to be faster after summer break

Britain’s Danny Kent has threatened to be even more dominant in the Moto3 class after the summer break as he says he has historically been faster the second half of the season.

Kent is running away with the tiddler class this year and upped his points lead to a whopping 63 with yet another masterclass in Germany which left his rivals scratching their heads.

“We were on top all weekend and it wasn’t a small gap, it was half a second or more so it was realistic to think that going into the race we could pull away and we demonstrated that we can not only win but win by a margin,” said Kent, speaking at the track.

“When I crashed in qualifying I snapped the gearlever and it was in the wrong place in the race so I missed a few gear early on but I soon got used to it and I increased the pace. We were a lot faster than the people behind but we were more consistent too.

“I am going to try and get as many wins as possible. I’m not going to do anything risky but if I feel like I can go ahead and win the race then I will. It’s a long year and we need to keep collecting these points.

“We have seen in the past that the second half of the season I am stronger. I am not saying it is going to happen this year as we have already been strong.”
