Knockhill BSB: 'I am back on track' - Easton

PBM Kawasaki’s Stuart Easton was up the sharp end during both MCE British Superbike free practice sessions at his local Knockhill circuit. The wee Scotsman was the second quickest rider in the overall timesheets, but was three tenths off the pace of his team-mate, Shane Byrne.

The reigning champ lapped under the existing circuit record, and even though Easton was putting down consistently quick times, he still couldn’t find that added pace to edge ahead of Byrne.

But the Hawick rider is pleased that his team were able to bag a one-two in the free practice outings, and hopes he can progress with his quick pace going into the qualifying sessions tomorrow, to be able to fight for that all important front row start, and to win his first BSB race on home soil.

“It was a good day overall for us – it’s nice to have PBM one-two overall at the end of the day too – just! I would have liked to be three tenths closer to Shakey instead of having the other guys all so close to me, but it was still a good day and he is the one we need to catch, especially here at my home round,” said Easton.

“This has probably been my best Friday of the year and things are looking good on the form front and I am back on track. I feel good on the bike, but not quite perfect yet. The conditions were quite hot in the afternoon, and the tyres were moving around a bit. But that was the same for everyone, and all in all it was a pretty decent day for us.”
