CF Motorsport’s Kyle Ryde claimed his second Motorpoint British Supersport win of the year after holding off yesterday’s race winner Glenn Irwin and the lap record holder Jake Dixon on the last lap.

Gearlink Kawasaki’s Irwin took the holeshot and after a dominant win yesterday he looked set to open out a comfortable gap.

The Northern Irishman managed to pull out an advantage of a second but that dwindled down to nothing after the safety car was deployed due to Irwin’s Gearlink teammate Ben Wilson crashing out.

As the safety car came in, talented teen Kyle Ryde took full advantage. After diving underneath Irwin for the lead, the CF Motorsport rider opened out a gap of his own and looked set to take the win.

However, with two laps remaining Ryde caught a back-marker and couldn’t find a way past allowing both Irwin and Smiths Triumph’s Jake Dixon to catch him.

As the trio entered the last lap Ryde lead and luckily for the Jacksdale rider, the only action came behind him.

The World Supersport podium finisher took the win and after a late lunge at the last corner, he was followed across the line by Dixon and then Irwin.

Leaving Knockhill, the top three in the title chase, Irwin, Ryde and Stapleford, are covered by just three points after this weekend’s results.

A mistake in the closing stages meant Profile Triumph’s Luke Stapleford could only take fourth place ahead of his teammate Sam Hornsey.

Team Traction Control’s James Rispoli took the chequered flag in sixth place, with EVO race winner Joe Collier coming across the line in seventh.

Gearlink Kawasaki’s Luke Hedger staked a strong claim towards having the ride of the race after battling through from a pit lane start, due to a technical problem on the grid, to take eighth place.

Rounding out the top ten were EVO podium finishers Marshall Neill and Matt Paulo.
