Knockhill BSB: Taylor snatches Motostar double win

RS Racing’s Taz Taylor snatched the HEL Performance British Motostar win from rival, Redline KTM’s Scott Deroue at a wet Knockhill circuit this afternoon, and did the double, after winning the first race yesterday.

But it was not an easy win for the youngster, as he had to fend off Deroue and title challenger, Banks Racing’s Ed Rendell. It was Taylor who started off strongly, only for Rendell to go into the lead on the first corner on lap seven.

The duelling duo stormed ahead - with a five second advantage over the rest of field, but that was not to last as Deroue wanted to join the party, and with two laps remaining founded that added pace in the rain to go up to first at Duffus Dip.

On the final lap, Rendell fell off the pace and the Dutchman and the Mansfield Woodhouse-based racer battled for the win, and coming out of Taylors Hairpin it was Taylor who had the edge over Deroue to take his second victory of the weekend. The win now gives him a thirteen point advantage at the top of the championship table.

Nesbitt, Lodge and Polden completed the top ten, just behind Boerboom, Persson, Saez and Van Der Valk. FAB Racing’s Cameron Horsman took the leading 125 accolade, from Josh Owens and Liam Delves.
