Linfoot wants to improve pace after Suzuka Eight-Hours test

Dan Linfoot has a goal for the up and coming Suzuka Eight-Hours and that is to improve his pace, so that he can support his Moriwaki Motul Honda team-mates.

The Eight-Hours debutant is in a team with former MCE British Superbike triple-champion, Ryuichi Kiyonari and ex Moto2 rider, Yuki Takahashi and the Moriwaki contingent were fastest after a recent test last week.

The Honda Racing BSB regular found the test useful and is looking forward to going back out to Japan on Monday. He is the third rider in the team and wants to be able to match the pace of his fellow garage buddies and it is a case of so far so good for the Fireblade man.

“It was good, the culture is different and the team was helpful and friendly. So new track to learn and I didn’t get a whole lot of lap I got 25 laps in three days,” said Linfoot, speaking to bikesportnews.com.

“On the first day my kit bag didn’t arrive off the plane in time so I missed the first day and riding is part of a three man team. I understand that and I am only the third, reserve rider and I hope I can improve my pace more and step in and relieve those guys for an hour or two during the race.

“I am already looking forward to going back on Monday they have spoken to me at this point about what they want to do, I will qualify and take part in the weekend in case they have issues in the race, in case they want to use me. I want to improve my pace so I am closer to them too and relieve them of any stress.”
