This year’s Motorpoint British Supersport Champion Luke Stapleford has been voted Supersport rider of the year by bikesportnews.com readers.

But it was a narrow win for the youngster as even though he polled 20.80 per cent of the vote, close rival Kyle Ryde was snapping at his heels with 19.89 per cent of the vote, a difference of just 15 votes.

Glenn Irwin took third place with 16.46 per cent of votes polled while Jake Dixon bagged fourth place with 11.03 per cent. Andy Reid completed the top five with 8.08 per cent.
