Magny-Cours WSBK: Rea does the double in France

Kawasaki’s Jonathan Rea kept his quest to beat Colin Edwards’ all-time World Superbike point scoring record on course at Magny-Cours this afternoon, adding to his race one with victory in the second outing with a two-second gap over Ducati’s Chaz Davies.

After Leon Haslam grabbed the lead into the first corner, Rea, Davies and Tom Sykes were battling for the podium spots but the Red Devils Aprilia man ran wide on lap two which allowed Davies through.

Rea passed Davies with 12 laps to go after going under Sykes on the brakes at Adelaide and then promptly pulled a gap. Davies has no answer to the Castletown man’s pace but clawed back some of the points he lost to Sykes in race one and the fight for runner-up spot will go the last round at Qatar.
