Magny-Cours WSBK: Sykes ‘not asking for anyone’s help’

Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes has stated he will not be asking team-mate Jonathan Rea for any help in order to beat Chaz Davies for runner-up spot in the title chase, preferring to do it all on his own at the Magny-Cours World Superbike weekend.

Sykes is 22 points behind the Aruba Ducati man with 50 left on the table but Davies is on a podium streak since his Laguna double and has taken a further two wins and two seconds while Sykes only top three was race one at Jerez.

"We're happy with how today went and of course our aim for this weekend is to beat Chaz and win races. We have a few things to try tomorrow morning to improve the bike and whether the weather throws at us we'll be ready. I'd like to sort second place out myself and I certainly won't be asking for anyone to assist me,” said the former champion.
