Yamaha Racing managing director Lin Jarvis believes that Marc Marquez made two mistakes leading up to his crash in the Argentine MotoGP and should have backed off after his first touch with Valentino Rossi.
Rossi ran the extra-hard rear Bridgestone which gave him better longevity in the race and he caught Marquez, who had opted for the softer tyre in order to get away, with three laps to go. The resulting two collisions eventually saw Marquez crash out on the exit of turn five.
“Unfortunately Marc made a misake. Well, actually he made two mistakes. After he was passed by Valentino, he tried to come back at him too soon, too aggressive,” said Jarvis, speaking at the track.
“After the first touch, he should have backed off a litle bit because clearly Valentino was faster at that stage of the race, so to come back at him again and be too close when Vale turned in was Marc’s mistake.”
