Martin prepares for Honda roads assault with Oulton test

Road racing star and TV personality Guy Martin has been preparing for his up and coming 2017 roads campaign by undertaking a test at the Oulton Park track with his Honda team today.

Martin is part of a two-rider team and his garage buddy is TT legend John McGuinness. This afternoon Martin got to grips with the Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2, and in the second test session posted a 1’42.909 time around the Cheshire track. He did 19 rotations on the Blade and set his quickest time on his 17th rotation.

Martin will compete in both the North West 200 and the Isle of Man TT. His next event is the Tandragee 100, where he will compete in both the Open and Around A Pound feature races, this weekend.

"He was here having a shakedown, he will be at Oulton Park next weekend, as will John McGuinness. You look at Rutter and Hutchy they are using BSB as a shakedown and test for the North West and the TT too," said Honda Racing team manager, Havier Beltran, speaking to bikesportnews.com at the track.
