Derek McGee's winning run in the Irish National road racing championship continued yesterday with another five wins from five starts at the Faugheenraces in Co Tipperary. His second five from five of the season.

He opened his account with a dominant performance in the Open race taking the chequered flag some eight seconds ahead of Brian McCormack and the ever-impressive newcomer Davey Todd.
 
Next up he won the 125/Moto3 race on the Joey's Bar bike, crossing the line 28 seconds ahead of second place Kevin Fitzpatrick with Enniskillen's Melissa Kennedy third. Gary Dunlop making his first appearance this season finished fourth.
 
In the Supersport race, McGee didn’t have it so easy. Last year's winner at this event Paul Jordan put in a gallant effort to spoil the Mullingar man's clean sweep, but it wasn’t to be and in the closing stages of the race McGee managed to ease ahead taking the win by one and a half seconds from Jordan and Michael Sweeney in third.
 
In the Supertwins race, McGee was untouchable on the Ryan Farquhar KMR Kawasaki, putting in an unchallenged performance, winning by 1.5 seconds, again ahead of the Cookstown Burrows Engineering rider Davey Todd with Thomas Maxwell third.
 
The Mullingar Missile finished off a perfect day with a win in the feature Grand Final race again it was English rider Davey Todd who was runner up seven seconds in arrears with the final podium place going to Michael Sweeney.
 
The championship now moves back North of the border to Co Antrim for the Armoy Race Of Legends next weekend.
