Milwaukee Aprilia unwrap 2017 RSV-4 at Jerez WorldSBK test

Milwaukee Aprilia have unwrapped the RSV-4RF they will campaign in this year’s WorldSBK championship and it comes with a host of changes to the bike Eugene Laverty and Lorenzo Savadori tested at the end of last year.

Revealed just before the first session of today’s test at Jerez, the most noticeable difference on the new bike is the swingarm but there are also many more new parts, including a tank and different engine spec.

Shaun Muir’s team are officially factory-supported by Aprilia but the garage is awash with works employees, particularly on the electronics side, which former rider Leon Haslam insists is vital to the bike’s success.

“It’s great to finally be here in Jerez for our first test of 2017. It’s exciting to unveil the bikes; a lot of work has gone into the new generation of Aprilia RSVF RF over the winter. The upgrades and support we’ve received are testament to the commitment by Aprilia Racing to the whole project,” said Muir.

Now we are looking forward to seeing the bikes on track, and slowly building up progress over four days of testing in preparation for us shipping out to Round 1 in Australia next month.”
