Milwaukee BMW boss ‘would consider’ Brands BSB wildcard

Milwaukee BMW World Superbike team owner Shaun Muir is considering a one-off return to the MCE British Superbike Champion at Brands to fill in the time left by the cancellation of the Monza round earlier today.

But Muir says there are a lot of things to take into consideration before he can commit, the first being a new set of testing regulations outlined by the Superbike commission in April before he could bring reigning champion Josh Brookes back to the British series.

WSBK riders now only have eight in-season test days and spending spending three days at Brands would leave both Josh Brookes and Karel Abraham with just five left for the rest of the year.

“If someone from BSB picks up the phone and asks me, I would definitely consider it,” said Muir, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Imola.

“I am sure the crowds would love to see us back, if just for one round, but there are a lot of things to take into consideration, the biggest being the test day allocation. But it is definitely something to think about.”
