Mossey smashes outright lap record at Cartagena Pro Test

JG Speedfit Kawasaki’s Luke Mossey has smashed Leon Haslam’s outright Cartagena lap record today on the third day of testing, putting in a 1’32.3 to go three-tenths faster than the benchmark set by his 2017 team-mate on the Pata Honda in 2014.

McAMS Yamaha’s James Ellison was also under Haslam’s old time by a tenth, setting a 1’32.5 on the in-development R1 while John Hopkins was also under the 1’33 barrier and continuing his excellent form on the Moto Rapido Ducati, setting a 1’32.8 while evaluating a new swingarm to complement the 2017 Ohlins forks he tried yesterday and a new spec of shock.

Haslam is continuing to work on fuelling and tyre life but still cut his time to a 1’33.1 while the Tyco BMW pair of Christian Iddon and Davide Giugliano really upped their game today, hitting a 1’33.1 and 1’33.3 respectively.
