MotoGP Aragon: Rossi expecting 'intense' race at unfavoured track

Movistar Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi has described his third place in the MotoGP standings as miraculous and is expecting an intense weekend at Aragon, a track which he says does not favour the M1.

Despite a pisspoor season so far and being on the verge of Yamaha’s longest-ever losing streak, Rossi is hoping that data gathered at a recent private test - where the new, lighter-cranked engine failed to rock up - will give them squad some kind of weapon to use against Honda and Ducati.

“Another intense GP is waiting for us. The Aragon circuit is not one of our favourites, but we will do everything we can and as always we’ll try to do our best,” said Rossi.

“Recently we did a test there, and we will use all the data available to improve our performance during the weekend. We want to fight for the podium, and it will be important to work well from day one, because we want to be on the podium again.”
