MotoGP Argentina: Kent cruises to Moto3 victory

Britain’s Danny Kent cruised to the Moto3 win at today’s Argentine MotoGP, making a break early on and then controlling the pace at the front to cross the line more than ten seconds ahead of Leopard team-mate Efren Vasquez with Isaac Vinales in third.

Kent is the first British rider to win back-to-back races in the smaller class since Barry Sheene at Andersorp and Imatra in 1971, and he now leads the Moto3 championship chase by 17 points from Vasquez.

“That was a bit boring as I like the Moto3 scraps,” joked Kent in parc ferme. “We have been strong all weekend after being strong in Austin. We have a good bike and we have all worked really hard and it is now paying off, I’m really happy.”

Scotland’s John McPhee was in a group battling for a top ten spot and he crossed the line in 15th place for a point.
