Reigning MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez believes he will find a good chunk of pace in tomorrow’s sessions at Phillip Island after going in the wrong direction with setup for free practice two.
The Repsol Honda man was fastest on the medium tyre this morning but then using Michelin’s soft tyre, some pace was lost and he felt the RC213V was unstable in fast corners. However, the Spaniard was very fast and consistent over a seven-lap run on the same rear.
“From FP1 we started in a good way, we started with a good base set-up and I was feeling really good on the bike. In the afternoon we lose our way a little bit and then we came back to what we had in FP1,” said Marquez, speaking at the track.
“Tomorrow I believe we can improve a lot, especially on the stability of the bike on the fast corners because at the moment it is quite unstable. We will try to keep the same level because we have a good pace.”
