MCE British Superbike star Sylvain Guintoli is under no illusion about the difficulty of his task at this weekend’s Le Mans MotoGP round but aims to surprise a few people on home turf.
The Bennetts Suzuki regular has been drafted in to replace the injured Alex Rins at Ecstar Suzuki for at least this round after a successful two-day test at Jerez.
“The bike was great to ride. It felt fantastic, like a little diamond. It was good to have some time on the bike as I have been in Superbike for some time now so I needed to get some idea about the tyres and get up to speed on a MotoGP bike,” said Guintoli, speaking at Le Mans.
“My expectation is to try and adapt as quickly as possible and do a decent job. This is not going to be easy, I know that. I know the guys here are all quick, they have done four races already so everyone is up to speed and it is going to be hard to catch up but I still think we could do something good and surprise a few.”
