MotoGP Qatar: Bautista blames Marquez for retirement

Gresini Aprilia’s Alvaro Bautista has blamed reigning MotoGP World Champion for his retirement from yesterday’s Qatar race and alleges the Repsol Honda man hit him so hard, he wiped out all the front sensors and the front brake.

Marquez was on the hurry up after running wide at the first corner and was basically going through the pack from dead last like a hot cliche through butter and clattered Bautista on his way to a fifth-place finish.

“In the first lap in turn number six, Marc entered so fast, hit my bike and he destroy my front brake and also all the front sensors so I have to come back to the pitlane,” said Bautista, speaking at Qatar.

“It was impossible to continue. I'm sorry because Marc is a good guy, but he has been too aggressive in the past in these types of situations. I think it is only right to point it out to him because it's risky.

“Today I was lucky because I didn't crash, but it doesn't take much to get hurt out there. So, like I said, we weren't able to complete our test today but we must not forget this episode and we need to be thinking about the next round in Austin already.

“It is a very different track than this one where we'll have the opportunity to check all the data gathered this weekend to develop the bike and look for ways to improve."
