MotoGP Qatar: Marquez admits he is not quite ready

Reigning MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez has admitted he is not 100 per cent ready to mount his title defence which starts this weekend in Qatar but has a good base level on which to build.

The Repsol Honda man is still working on calming down the power delivery on his RC213V without compromising forward traction and made some good headway with electronics during testing at the desert track.

“We are working hard to find the best set-up because these big changes take time and we know that in a few races we will be better and better. At the moment the base level is not so bad,” said Marquez, speaking at the track.

“In pre-season we tested in Malaysia, Phillip Island and here and all the manufacturers improved their level. The real thing will be this weekend and we will see where we are exactly, but in my case, I know that this is one of the circuits where I struggle more during the season and we know that at the moment we are not 100 per cent ready. But the winter tests were good, we tried many things but now it is a race weekend and we will do our 100 per cent.”
