Factory Ecstar Suzuki rider Alex Rins said that if its dry or raining in tomorrows race, after his best MotoGP qualifying performance at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia.

The Spaniard earned his first front row start after an impressive lap which saw him just 0.068 seconds behind that of pole sitter Maverick Vinales.

With heavy rain forecast for tomorrows race Rins said he doesn’t mind if its dry or wet, he feels strong with the pace of his GSX-RR.

“If it’s dry or wet for us doesn’t matter. For us, we have enough rhythm to be with the front group, trying to fight,” said the 22-year-old.

“For sure I will try to be at my best. Four podiums this year, I will try to finish the last race at my maximum again and we will see what happens.”

Rins managed to shake off crashes in both FP3 and FP4 for his qualifying performance. The Spaniard confessed to being a little shaken up after his FP4 crash.

“Two crashes today in the same corner. In FP3, it was normal as everybody was going at full gas to go directly into Q2 and I’m not the only one who crashed in FP3,” he said.

“But FP4 was harder, I was on slick tyres and I run off a little bit and hit wet patches and I lose the front tyre.

“It was simply lose the front, but when I entered the washing machine, it started to do some loops. I didn’t know if I was at home or here in Valencia.

“But anyway, I tried to forget fast and concentrate to make a good Q2. After the first three laps when I go to the box and I see on the screen seconds this gave me extra motivation to push a little bit more.

“Second is fantastic for us and for the team. I think starting from the front row tomorrow is ideal because this track is very small for overtaking and difficult a little bit.”
