MV Agusta releases 212bhp Camier-replica WSBK F4RC complete with race kit

They’ve not quite managed a Bimota yet - winning a WSBK race against all the odds. But the MV Agusta Reparto Corse race team has been doing really well this season, considering the financial headaches which have dogged the factory. And to celebrate, the Italian firm has released info on this WSBK replica F4RC.

The proper factory race paint scheme is gorgeous, and under it all is a rather impressive spec. The heart of the bike is the short-stroke inline-four motor, which puts out a hefty 205bhp in road trim. But with the (supplied) race pipe and ECU, that bumps up to 212bhp, putting it amongst the top league of litre bikes, for peak power at least. That mighty output is held in check by two things: the sweet, high-spec chassis and running gear, and a fairly comprehensive electronics suite.

The chassis uses the firm’s trademark composite frame, with steel tube trellis sections linked to light alloy swingarm and steering pivot castings. Running gear is top-spec kit: Ohlins NIX 30 front forks, with separate compression and rebound damping in each leg, plus an Ohlins TTX36 rear piggyback shock. Brembo GP radial calipers bite on 320mm front discs, and the wheels are forged aluminium Marchesinis.

The electronics includes an up- and down-quickshifter, with auto-blipper, and eight-level traction control, with lean angle sensing. Bosch 9 Plus ABS gives a race mode, and an anti-rear-wheel-lift function, improving stability on hard braking.

Finally, the RC comes with a lovely wooden box packed with gorgeous moto-jewellery. You get the aforementioned SC Projects race pipe and factory race ECU to bolt on, plus a carbon fibre single seat unit, aluminium blanking plates to dump mirrors and road kit, race fuel filler cap, and a nice bespoke cover, so you can leave it chained to a lamp post outside your council flat without any worries.

No word on price as yet but we’re sure if you’re the sort of person who likes buying limited edition Agustas, you’ll be able to liquidate a hedge fund or two and pick one up. Limited to 250 copies though, so don’t hang about…
