New Zealand’s Courtney Duncan (Yamaha) strengthened her grip on the FIM MXW Women’s World Championship with her second double win of the season.

Duncan, who in the past hasn’t always managed to stay upright for the whole race distance, dominated at Teutschenthal in Germany. She won Saturday’s opening moto from defending champion Kiara Fontanesi (Yamaha) by almost seven seconds and completed the job this morning with a 15-second win ahead of the Italian.

Germany’s Larissa Papenmeier (Suzuki) claimed a home podium finish in third with her four-three card good enough to defeat Holland’s Nancy Van De Ven (Yamaha) on a tie-break.

With three rounds down and the WMX series at the halfway stage Duncan now leads Papenmeier by 15 points with Fontanesi a further seven points off the pace.

Ireland’s Natalie Kane (Honda) was seventh overall and currently holds sixth in the title chase.

In the EMX125cc championship Mattia Guadagnini (Husqvarna) took the overall on a tie-break with his two-one card defeating series leader Rene Hofer (KTM) who ran one-two. It was a close-run thing and the Austrian just failed to make a pass on the young Italian on the last lap.

Britain’s World 85cc Champion Eddie Jay Wade (KTM) continues to progress in his rookie season in the class and was a fantastic third in yesterday’s opening moto. Coming home 11th in this morning’s second race was good enough for sixth overall which moves him up to 11th in the points standings, despite missing the opening round with a broken collarbone.
