New engine and chassis for Lowes at Lausitzring WSBK test

Pata Yamaha’s Alex Lowes got his paws on a new spec engine and upgraded chassis for the two-day Lausitzring World Superbike test where he put in a total of 133 laps at the bumpy German circuit.

Lowes believes the new parts will be help in his bid to finish the season strongly and the team will also test at Magny-Cours early next month in order to further tweak setup changes.

“My feeling with the YZF-R1 has continued to improve and we've developed the package and learnt some new additions, which is positive. The track is interesting and it's always nice to try new venues,” said Lowes.

“The layout is challenging with lots of changes of direction and quite bumpy so compared to other tracks a slightly different set up is necessary. Overall I'm happy with the progress and am looking forward to the final day of testing at Magny-Cours before the season starts again back here in mid-September."
