Oulton BSB: ‘We’ll soon be battling for wins’ - Bridewell

Tyco BMW’s Tommy Bridewell was up the sharp end in both MCE British Superbike free practice sessions in mixed conditions at Oulton Park today. The Devizes man lapped the second quickest time in dry conditions in FP1 and was third fastest in FP2 this afternoon in the rain.

The Wiltshire rider is feeling confident ahead of qualifying on Sunday and his team have been working hard with his bike, and feels he has a strong package on his S1000RR. He felt the test last week proved beneficial as he has found that extra pace to be up the top end of the timesheets.

“It has been a good all-round show. We have a really strong package here – at the test last week we found something that made a big, big difference to the bike. At Brands Hatch I was riding at the very limit but we have moved on from that and even in the wet I was able to put in strong, consistent laps so we are not too far away,” said Bridewell, at the track.

“In the dry we are on the podium pace, in the wet it can be a bit of a lottery though. I was quickest until the last couple of minutes when Josh Brookes and Howie Mainwaring got in front of me. It is nice to ride with a smile and enjoy it so I think we will soon be battling for wins.”
