Oulton BSB: ‘It’s time to pull my finger out’ - Mossey

Luke Mossey is convinced this could be his weekend after clinching a front row start for the first Bennetts British Superbike race tomorrow.

And after nabbing third place on the grid on his last lap, the JG Speedfit Kawasaki rider joked that he had to do something to put himself in a good position ahead of 2019.

“It’s time to pull my finger out, it’s contract time,” he chuckled. “But no, I’m good. This is the best I’ve felt all year. I had really good race pace yesterday and this morning on the soft tyre so I’m feeling good

“I don’t need to keep repeating myself but it’s been such a tough year for me physically and mentally with the injuries so a good end to the year it would set me up nicely for the winter.”

For Mossey, a podium finish is what he is setting his sights on this weekend, and he believes that converting a front row to a rostrum is certainly achievable.

“It’s fantastic to be back on the front row, especially when we’ve had such good pace all weekend. I’m still chasing a trophy this year but I’m sure we’re going to get it.

“I feel like my old self this weekend. I feel a lot better and the bike is working really well. I’m looking forward to what I hope are going to be two strong races.”
