Oulton BSB: Linfoot quickest in damp FP3

Honda Racing’s Dan Linfoot was the fastest rider in the final timed MCE British Superbike free practice session, in damp conditions at Oulton Park. The racer lapped a 1’42.132, but only ten bikes made it out on to the drying track, ahead of qualifying and a race later today.

Linfoot completed a total of twelve laps, leaving his best till last, but the pace-setter was seven seconds off the best time set by Moto Rapido Ducati’s John Hopkins in FP2 yesterday.

Milwaukee Yamaha’s Josh Brookes left it till there were only a handful of minutes remaining to the 45 minute outing to go out on the circuit, but a last lap dash was not enough to go quicker than Linfoot and the Australian had to settle for second after a 1’42.229.

Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Howie Mainwaring was third on the sheets, and put down more rotations than anyone else, after missing the majority of FP2 on Friday due to a technical problem.

Buildbase BMW’s Ryuichi Kiyonari was the first rider out on track this morning, followed by Metcher and Lo Turco. But with only ten minutes remaining to the session there were only seven bikes out on the circuit, but then Cooper, Laverty and Brookes made an appearance.

The Japanese tripl- champ rounded off the top five, after a 1’49.598, but was two seconds adrift of his team-mate, Richard Cooper. Zanotti, Westmoreland, Metcher, Laverty and Lo Turco completed the top ten.
