McAMS Yamaha’s Josh Brookes goes into this weekend’s Bennetts British Superbike round at Oulton Park with a two race win deficit to series leader Leon Haslam and knows full well the size of the task ahead of him.
The Australian says 2018 has been his most challenging season so far in the championship and it hasn’t been helped by the number of mechanical failures he has endured so Brookes says there must be no mistakes in the last seven races.
“We need to go into these races, as a team, making no mistakes, no DNFs and of course the most obvious one is win some races,” said Brookes.
“I know what it takes, I’ve been here before many times. I’ve won a championship. I know what’s involved. We’ve just got to put that knowledge into practice.”
