Oulton BSB: Race weekend facts, stats and pub ammo

Three riders have so far taken wins in 2018 – Bradley Ray (2) and Shane Byrne and Leon Haslam (one each).

Eight riders have stood on the podium in the four races held so far – Ray (3), Byrne and Haslam (2 each), and Glenn Irwin, Michael Laverty, Jason O’Halloran, Dan Linfoot and James Ellison (all one).

Byrne now has 85 BSB race wins ahead of Ryuichi Kiyonari (50), John Reynolds (37), Josh Brookes (36) and Haslam (32).

Byrne has moved onto a total of 188 BSB podiums and is followed by Reynolds (115), Brookes (109), Michael Rutter (99), Kiyonari (94) and Haslam (83).

Twenty one riders have so far scored points in the 2018 BSB Championship.

Nine riders have scored points in every race – Ray, Byrne, Haslam, Irwin, Laverty, Christian Iddon, Luke Mossey, Danny Buchan and Brookes.

Brookes’ total of 23 points is his worst start to a BSB season since 2011 when he’d scored just 10 points.

The current Oulton Park lap record is held by Josh Brookes at 1m34.483s (102.057mph), set in 2015.

Shane Byrne has set the fastest ever lap recorded at Oulton Park with a time of 1m33.933s during qualifying in September 2016.

Ryuichi Kiyonari has the most wins at Oulton (12) followed by Shane Byrne (11), Steve Hislop and Leon Haslam (both 7), Tommy Hill and John Reynolds (both 5) and Leon Camier and Josh Brookes (both 4).

Shane Byrne (32) has taken the most podiums at Oulton Park followed by John Reynolds and Josh Brookes (both 23), Michael Rutter and Leon Haslam (both 15), and Ryuichi Kiyonari and James Ellison (both 14).

Haslam (two) and Byrne and Dan Linfoot (one each) took the race wins at Oulton Park in 2017.

Haslam (three) took the most podiums with Byrne (two) and Mossey, Irwin, O’Halloran, Brookes, Hopkins, Linfoot and Ray (one each) the other riders to finish in the top three.

Haslam (70) scored the most points across the four races at Oulton Park in 2017 followed by Byrne (61), Brookes (46), O’Halloran (43), Hickman (41) and Irwin (36).

Third place in the second race at Oulton Park last September was Bradley Ray’s first BSB podium.

Ninth place in the second race at Oulton Park last September was Shane Byrne’s worst result of 2017.

The most successful manufacturer at Oulton Park is Ducati with 27 wins followed by Yamaha (19), Honda (18), Kawasaki (14), Suzuki (11) and BMW (4).

Ducati (Byrne), Kawasaki (Haslam) and Honda (Linfoot) all won races at Oulton Park in 2017.

Yamaha’s last win at Oulton Park came in 2015 with Josh Brookes with the Australian also claiming the last win for Suzuki, back in 2013.

BMW last won at Oulton Park in 2016 with Richard Cooper.
