Oulton BSB: Reid clinches controversial Supersport win

Quattro Plant Kawasaki’s Andy Reid cruised to the chequered flag and his second Dickies British Supersport win of the year.

However, his race win is up in the air due to being under investigation for a lap one move at Shell that  resulted in yesterday’s race winner Ben Currie ending in the gravel trap.

Reid eventually pulled clear once the safety car came down pit lane, despite a late charge from WD40 Kawasaki’s Tarran Mackenzie.

Mackenzie came through from sixteenth on the grid to second place and was closing down the race leader lap by lap. However, his race ended in disaster as he crashed out at Hizzy’s Chicane just seconds before the red flag came out for falling rain.

Gearlink Kawasaki’s Luke Hedger came out on top in a fierce battle for second place, just getting the better of Came Yamaha’s James Westmoreland.

Tsingtao MV Agusta’s Jake Dixon got his first points of the year but was forced to work hard for all thirteen of them, after a race long battle with yesterday’s podium finisher Luke Jones.

EHA Racing’s David Allingham ended a lonely sixth, ahead of GO Racing’s Jamie Perrin. He snatched seventh place by just 0.080 of a second from Sam Coventry.

Rounding out the top ten were Ben Stafford and South African Bjorn Estment.
