Former BSB star and Isle of Man TT record holder Steve Plater has been appointed as the new KTM RC390 Cup ambassador and the Linconshire man will also be responsible for co-ordinating the BSB support series.
Plater retired from racing competitively with a shoulder injury but still spends a lot of time instructing on circuits as well as appearing on your TV as part of the Isle of Man and North West 200 coverage.
“I’m delighted to have been asked to do this by KTM. My main roles will be ambassador and co-ordinator which means taking the series from where it is now and steering through to launch and for the rest of the season,” said Plater, speaking to bikesportnews.com at Birmingham airport.
“We will be doing a lot of riding instruction, showing the riders how to conduct themselves with the fellow competitors and the media, plus also making sure everything is in the right place at the right time, it is going to be exciting.”
