'Pressure is all on Haslam at Assen' says title challenger Dixon

Bennetts British Superbike title contender Jake Dixon believes all the pressure is on series leader Leon Haslam at this weekend’s Assen round.

Haslam will have his first chance to wrap up the title this weekend (click here) while Dixon, fresh from a double win at Oulton and signing a two-year Moto2 deal, needs to keep the Derby Man in sight to take the title to the wire with his RAF Reserves Kawasaki team.

“The start of the Showdown was great with two wins at Oulton Park; it couldn’t have gone better. The team have been working fantastic and I really like Assen. I haven’t done a lot there but I have watched a lot and I can’t wait to get going,” said Dixon.

“I feel like the bike is in a better place than it was last year and I think as soon as we roll out we should be good, we will work hard from the start of the weekend.

“I want to enjoy the weekend again because the minute when you put too much pressure on yourself it becomes a whole different scenario. Leon has the pressure on him and I’m just going to enjoy myself and hopefully get two more good results.”
