Reid signs for Quattro Plant Kawasaki in British Supersport

Northern Irishman Andy Reid will remain in the Motorpoint British Supersport class for 2016 as he joins joining the Quattro Plant Kawasaki team.

In 2015 the Ulsterman was riding for Team Traction Control onboard the R6, but has now swapped the Yamaha for a ZX-6R

Unfortunately he sustained a wrist injury at Oulton Park in September, but before his fall he snatched his pole position, fastest lap and race one victory at the Cheshire track. He is now looking forward to jumping n the ZX-6R, after being out of action since his injury.

“I have to say first off - this is the best deal for me for 2016 and my only focus now, is preparing myself correctly to go and win next season’s British Supersport Championship,” said Reid.

“I’m familiar with the Quattro Plant team and I’ve ridden a ZX-6R before, so I know how good the chassis is. I’m honestly really excited to be working alongside Filip [Backlund], who is a former team-mate, and Luke [Mossey] who I’ve known for a long time.

“The whole team seem a great bunch and I’m so happy to be back in British Supersport – as that was always my goal for 2016. Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen. It’s very much appreciated.”
